David N. Andrews Cert. Soc. Psychol. (Leeds), M. Ed. (Birmingham) is able to offer the following services (through AutSpect Education Tmi):
- assessment and testing - intellectual, interpersonal, intrapersonal and academic functioning (tests used: WASI, WISC-R, K-BIT, TONI-3, SIT-R, MPD, NEO-FFI, DTVP-A, K-FAST and screening/diagnostic tests for dyslexia/dyspraxia, etc; attentional/hyperactivity-based and autistic spectrum difficulties, although general psycho-educational issues can also be assessed for)
- psycho-educational diagnostic formulation - specialist in high-functioning autistic spectrum states (structured interview or questionnaires, cross-matching responses to diagnostic criteria in ICD 10), and able to formulate for other issues
- intervention - planning, implementation and evaluation (using a psycho-ecological approach, based on Lewin’s Life-Space model, with clearly defined rôles for all involved in the development of the autistic person)
- counselling and consultations for autistic people and their parents/carers/teachers/etc (skilled in the use of rational-emotive counselling and personal construct counselling techniques), as well as for minor mental health issues
- teaching and training for professionals and parents on autistic spectrum states (contributor of materials in the Autism Web-course offered by the School of Education, University of Birmingham, UK), as well as having teaching strengths in applicable psychology, mathematical sciences and archaeological studies
- organisational evaluation - using Reynolds' accreditation protocol developed for the UK National Autistic Society
- good practice evaluation - using Jones' 'Points To Ponder' protocol, which arose from Jones' doctoral work
- practitioner-research services - custom evaluations of interventions/programmes/etc
